Honouring National Day
for Truth and Reconciliation
West Coast Tap is excited to offer a weekend of workshops and a special documentary screening in honour of the 2026 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

SATURDAY SEPT 26th - WORKSHOPS
Join us for two workshops led by Indigenous (Nehiyaw) artist and tap dancer, Johnathan Morin, and guitarist Nathan Hiltz. Both workshops will take place at The Dance Centre (677 Davie Street):

SUNDAY SEPT 27th - DOCUMENTARY SCREENING (16+)**
**ADVISORY: Recommended for ages 16+. This documentary contains material of a sensitive nature that may be triggering for some individuals. Including discussion of residential schools, colonization, abuse and intergenerational trauma.
Join West Coast Tap and Tap Love Tour for a screening of “Restorative Culture,” a moving portrait of Indigenous (Nehiyaw) tap dancer and cultural bearer Johnathan Morin - exploring rhythm, recovery, mentorship, and the transformative power of art.

Tap Day Celebrations 2026
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Tap Day celebrations, and congratulations to our 2026 honouree, Valerie Easton! We had a great weekend of tap dance, and are grateful to our incredible workshop leaders - Alexandra Clancy, Heather Cornell, Jeffrey Dawson, Jim Hibbard, Bryn Kinders, Jordyn Lemire, Kristina Linden, and Riley Skworoda.
