Dayna Syndrowski

Dayna Szyndrowski began building her love of tap dance & music from a young age in Canada and later developed it fully in New York City's tap community. She has been fortunate enough to spend time across Canada & the US, in Cuba, & in Greece, studying with many tap & music greats; passing on what she has learned as a teacher. Memorable performances include being on stage at the NYC & Vancouver tap festivals, the Vancouver & Boston Tap Day celebrations, the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies, Greece's Bridges in Time performance, the Edmonton Fringe Festival. Recently, Dayna and fellow tap dancer, Jessie Sawyers, co-produced full evening-length performance entitled With You We Dance. Closest to her heart is the work done in one-on-one sessions assisting Heather Cornell in restoring hours of lost material from her private sessions with tap legend Eddie Brown. Thank you, Eddie. www.daynaszyndrowski.com

Performing with Dayna is Jessica Benini, a BC grown singer songwriter. She is a self-taught musician who learned how to play by observing other artists and practicing their technique. Jessica is a graduate of Rosebud School of the Arts in Rosebud, Alberta. She started writing music in her first year of college, only revealing it to close friends. After gaining confidence as a performer she then began to share her own songs. Jessica went on to perform as a new songwriter at the Medicine Hat Folk Festival and at 15 Minutes of Fame, Rosebud’s music festival. She just finished recording her first debut album, “Express Yourself”. Jessica Benini is a transparent artist and observing soul that comes alive when she plays her heart out, and has found that songwriting is a way of being able to express her inner thoughts. She loves the Island life, how gently everything moves and breathes. Being a musician on Vancouver Island, Jessica feels understood, free, playful and inspired. Her main goal and practice in life is to play publicly without apology. www.myspace.com/jessicabenini
